A hidden gem, wonderful and friendly owners who have owned it about 5 years I believe. The reviews about poor service were from the previous owner please disregard those. The property is clean, well kept, and the lodge is stocked with most items you could need in a pinch. We will be back!
Very nice resort with good fishing. Travis and Rachel we wonderful! I highly recommend it.
Great cabin. Kitchen had all cooking utensils and dinnerware provided. Comfortable living room with lots of room, dining table off kitchen, bathroom very clean and shower provided with hot (very hot) water. Dock assigned to each cabin, kayaks free to use, as well as a paddle boat. Lodge has basic groceries available to buy, really good ice cream, and all sorts of games and puzzles guests can borrow. All around very nice resort.
Very nice resort on a beautiful lake. We had a great week of fishing, exploring and relaxation. Rachel and Travis are true gems and made us feel welcome. We scheduled again for next year and will be making this a yearly vacation from here forward.
My family has vacationed here starting with my grandfather, father, now our family's. It's my favorite place to be. At least 50 years of memories. I hadn't been back for a little while, my sister and her family were keeping up the tradition, but I came back this year and I'm so glad I did. The new owners are doing a great job and are very friendly. Sadly the previous owner was a troubled person and wasn't a welcoming person. Thank you for helping our family make even more memories with our children. Update: I came back and will as long as I can. This is a magical place for our family. Lots of memories from the past and now with our own kids. I was reading all the reviews and the current owners have brought this resort back to a kid friendly, pet friendly, family vacation spot. Our kids are older now but there are well manored kids out having fun. Its lovely! We will be back next June!
Rachel and Travis went out of their way to make sure we had an excellent vacation. Our cabin was very clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for cooking and baking and the sunset views were gorgeous. Fishing was great! It was very convenient to rent a boat and motor and have it ready and waiting for you at the dock. Make sure you pick up a fishing hotspot map at the office. The store was fully stocked with reasonable prices for any groceries or fishing items you may need. Some great improvements have been made to the resort with the new owners. We will definitely be back to visit again.
Before I write my review, I feel it is important to point out that there are a few negative reviews posted here but they were written roughly 2 years ago pertaining to the former owner, John, and their experience with him. The new owners, Rachel and Travis, have turned Spider Shores around and have made it a welcome place for everyone to visit, time and again. There are so many improvements that have been made, not only in the resort itself but in the welcoming attitude around the resort. We have been staying here for well over 30 years and and are now on the third owners during that time. When we received the news that the resort had been sold to Rachel and Travis, we were very happy with hopes that things would improve. They did not disappoint us at all! May of 2021 was our first stay with Rachel and Travis since we missed 2020 because of Covid. From the time we arrived until we left a week later, we could see so many positive things about the NEW Spider Shores. All this comes from now having owners that really care about you enjoying your stay at Spider Lake and having a good time. If any of you have previously tried Spider Shores in years gone by, and have not been happy with your experience, we would encourage you to give it another chance. You will not be disappointed!! This is a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing part of the country so come find out for yourselves what you have been missing.
Great place to go I personally don't like the slot limit but that's okay.
